These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Canadian Tax Calculator at https://total-tax.ca (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.
The Site is a free educational estimator. It shows simplified tax and cost-of-living figures for Canadian provinces and territories, and optional comparisons with selected US states and European countries.
Results are estimates only. They are not tax advice, legal advice, or a substitute for a qualified professional, CRA-certified software, or official government tools. Always confirm figures with official sources before you file, budget, or relocate.
We aim to use published 2026 rates and indexes, but models are simplified. They may omit credits, deductions, filing status, local taxes, city-level costs, and other personal circumstances. We do not warrant that any result is complete, current, or error-free.
You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial research and education. You agree not to:
The Site’s layout, text, and code are provided for use on this Site. Third-party marks (including Google and Buy Me a Coffee) belong to their owners.
Ads, donation buttons, and outbound links are provided by third parties. Their terms and privacy policies apply to those services. We are not responsible for third-party sites.
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site operator is not liable for any loss, tax filing error, penalty, or other damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its estimates.
We may change the Site or these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date will change when we revise them. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
